Opportunity Knocks

One year ago, I set foot on Australian soil, emigrating sight-unseen to a new continent in search of a brighter future for my family than the one offered in South Africa.  We were jobless and had only the possessions in our suitcases.  Our mission was to find where, on this wonderful and vast continent, we would like to settle.

The last twelve months have been a chaotic whirl on the job seeking roller-coaster, with all the accompanying hopes and disappointments.  Three cities, two schools, two containers, two rental houses and a second successful visa grant later, the first year has slipped by, and we are finally settled in sunny Queensland.

Not a good year to start a new career as an erotic author, you might think.  But in fact, it was the best opportunity I ever had.  I was unemployed and free of all business obligations. I had no friends yet, and too little money to spend the tense days in between job interviews sight-seeing. So I wrote a short story and sent it off to Ellora's Cave, thinking that I might as well aim for the best, since I had nothing to lose.  That story was accepted.

Reunion Submission was released on 26 July 2013, and is available at Ellora's Cave, Amazon, Goodreads and many other e-book retailers.  I have a novel, Compulsion, due for release on 6 September 2013, and another well underway.  My new fans are going to hear from me a lot!

Opportunity knocks at the most unexpected times.  Don't let it catch you napping!
